Democracywatch is a development and educational institution
working to promote and strengthen democracy and good governance
by creating awareness about rights and values through research,
training for leadership, advocacy and mobilization of media to fight
against injustice and human rights violation. We provide different
kinds of training specially to the youths to build up their career
and leadership quality.

Democracywatch
along with the women community and other human rights
organizations of the country are continuing its protest
against the proposed amendments to the constitution
raising the number of reserved seats for women in the
National Parliament. We are demanding incorporation
of a provision in the amendment for direct election
to the reserved seats for women through organizing different
programmes.

Democratic Local Government Program (DLGP)
The Democratic Local Governance
Program (DLGP) is a USAID funded project designed to increase the
efficiency and transparency of selected rural and urban local government
in the northwest and southwest areas of Bangladesh. In addition,
the program works to advance the legal and functional independence
of two local government associations, founded to represent the interest
of rural and urban local governments respectively. The program is
implemented by RTI International, a North Carolina, US-based not-for-profit

Election Monitoring
Democracywatch-
a leading election monitoring organization in Bangladesh deployed
380 stationary observers on behalf of Election Working Group (EWG)
which covered 380 booths and 65 centers in Sylhet City Corporation.
