Training workshop
for Journalist on Human Rights Reporting
Democracywatch
in cooperation with British High Commission is going to organize
a three day long training workshop for journalists on Human Rights
Reporting from 23rd- 25th September, 2003. It will take place at
Chez Razzak Service, Padma Residential Area in Rajshahi. Mayor of
Rajshahi City Corporation Mr Mizanur Rahman Minu will be the chief
guest and Mr Faisul Islam Farouqi, Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University
will chair the inaugural session. Taleya Rehman, Executive Director
of Democracywatch will inaugurate the training workshop. Mr Zaglul
Ahmed Chowdhury, senior journalist and columnist, James Douris,
Deputy Head of South Asian Department of FCO, Robert Gibson, Deputy
High Commissioner of British High Commission and Mille Sen Gupta,
Head of Press and Public Affairs of British High Commission will
be present as special guests in the ceremony.
A number of
30 journalists from different dailies and weeklies will participate
in the workshop. Prominent journalist and human rights activists
will be conducting the sessions.

Networking
Journalist Training on Human Rights Investigative Reporting
Democracywatch
is organizing another networking workshop on investigative reporting
on Human Rights at the same venue on 29th September at 3.00 pm.
Prominent journalist and editor of Weekly JaiJaiDin Mr Shafik Rehman
will be conducting the session. At the end of the session Mr Rehman
will distribute certificates among the participants. A number of
60 journalists from different dailies and weeklies will attend the
session.
This is the
first time in Rajshahi Division a series of training workshop is
going to take place.
